Military UAP Evidence & Government Releases

Official footage does not mean alien footage. This is our running guide to military UAP videos, government case releases, witness testimony and the difference between โ€œunidentifiedโ€ and โ€œextraordinary.โ€

WHAT COUNTS AS โ€œOFFICIALโ€ UAP EVIDENCE?

The word official can mean different things. A video may be released by AARO or another government agency, be reported as military-origin footage released by journalists, or exist as testimony entered into an official hearing record.

Those categories should not be collapsed together. Government provenance can establish where information came from; it does not establish an object’s identity or extraordinary origin.

AAROโ€™S MAY 2026 VIDEO RELEASES

On May 8, 2026, the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office published a collection of military UAP imagery and case material. Its official release table includes infrared and electro-optical clips dating from 2013 through 2026, with material submitted by multiple military commands.

AARO’s video descriptions are limited accounts of what appears in the sensor display. The agency warns that they should not be interpreted as analytical judgments or final identifications. An authentic government release is not automatically evidence of an extraordinary object.

THE CHANDELIER / PR-038

PR-038 is an unusual-looking case in the release. AARO says U.S. Central Command submitted a one-minute, 46-second infrared recording made by a U.S. military platform in the Middle East in 2013. The target resembles an eight-pointed star with a visible trail in the sensor display.

The military origin of the released recording is documented. The apparent shape might still be influenced by optics or image processing, while the available public record leaves questions about the case’s status. The official recording and source notes are embedded in our published evidence file.

THE AFGHANISTAN DISC FOOTAGE

Journalists Jeremy Corbell and George Knapp released thermal footage they said came from a U.S. military platform over Afghanistan on November 23, 2020. The object looks broadly disc-like in the circulated clip.

This is reported military-origin footage published by journalists, not an AARO-posted case with a complete public file. Its source chain therefore depends more heavily on the journalists’ account. The separate PW Afghanistan article is still in editorial review and is not linked as a published case.

THE USS JACKSON / ALEX WIGGINS ACCOUNT

Chief Alexandro Wiggins appeared as a witness at the September 9, 2025 U.S. House Oversight hearing concerning UAP transparency. He testified about objects he said were observed during USS Jackson operations in 2023.

In 2026, Wiggins separately alleged that AARO pressed him to repeat his account in a secure facility and contacted his chain of command after he declined. That is an attributed witness allegation, not an independently established account of AARO’s motives or actions.

UKRAINEโ€™S STAR-SHAPED UAP

Ukrainian defense-technology adviser Serhii โ€œFlashโ€ Beskrestnov was reported to have published military-supplied footage in 2026 showing a bright six-pointed object recorded during the war.

A star-like appearance can result partly or entirely from a sensor effect. In active combat airspace, drones, decoys, missiles and other conventional systems also require consideration. The footage’s origin and interpretation need to be assessed separately.

WHAT AAROโ€™S REPORTING DATA CAN AND CANNOT SAY

AARO’s reporting-trends page covers reports dated January 1, 1996 through August 15, 2026. It summarizes closed-case resolutions, observed shapes and reported altitudes. The population is reports received by AARO, not every unusual observation worldwide.

Resolved cases and unresolved cases must not be treated as identical groups. An unresolved report does not, by itself, establish extraordinary behavior; it may reflect missing data.

WHY SOME CASES STAY UNRESOLVED

A short infrared clip may lack range, altitude, speed, sensor metadata, witness testimony or surrounding operational context. Without those details, even an authentic recording can be impossible to identify conclusively.

Where available, independent visual observations, radar, infrared, telemetry, known sensor geometry and documented witnesses help investigators test hypotheses. No single striking frame can replace that context.

THE CIVILIAN REPORTING GAP

According to AARO’s current reporting instructions, U.S. government personnel use designated channels, civilian pilots are encouraged to report sightings to air traffic control, and AARO receives pilot reports from the FAA. AARO says it will announce when a general public reporting mechanism is available.

This describes the published procedure as of this guide’s review. It does not substantiate broader claims about why any specific sighting was or was not investigated.
