It is safe to say that not everything unexplainable is paranormal. A young girl by the name of Fauna Jackson, age 16, was at America’s Gran Teton National Parak volunteering in an area of the park know as “bear country”. At one point, Fauna Jackson needed to use the bathroom and left the group to do so. She never returned.
The group and park rangers immediately set up a search party to look for Fauna, who seemed to disappear without a trace. The search groups leading the search were made up of more than 100 people, and covered 310,000 acres of alpine terrain. Along with the search groups, posters were distributed, search dogs were sent out, and helicopters scanned the area. Unfortunately, two days passed and there were still no signs of Fauna Jackson.
A little after two days, Fauna Jackson was finally found near a spot called Snake River Outlook, which was about 3-4 miles from where she was last seen. Here is where the story gets weird. As authorities approached Jackson, she seemed different in her appearance. Somehow, Jackson was able to change her appearance by cutting and dying her hair as well as changing her clothes. This is very odd for someone that was lost in the woods in sub-zero temperatures for the past two days.
What makes this story a little more interesting is that about a week before her trip, Jackson shared a pictured of a skull on top of a book called, “A Lesson Before Dying”. Other than the social media post, there are no other clues that would explain her behavior or disappearance. Her family and friends acknowledge the strange circumstances surrounding the case, but are happy to just have Fauna Jackson back in their lives.
An investigation is currently underway to discover what truly happened to Fauna, and to figure out how she managed to survive two freezing nights in the woods.
